Where is Christopher Cray’s body?
Christopher Cray, a 23-year-old dad of four, was last noticed in the area of Schnucks supermarket, 1801 Missouri Blvd in Jefferson City on May 20, 2014.
His car was discovered abandoned six days later on May 26.
On June 11, 2014, the Office of the Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman declared it was believed he was possible en route to the Belle area driving a white Ford Crown Victoria with numerous other people. Police asked the public for help finding Cray and were helped by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control and Boone County Task Force One with locating and substantiating potential crime scenes.
Initially, when we started this investigation we started it as a missing person investigation. As time goes on, nonetheless, while we’ve attempted to remain positive evidence and information we have received are sort of pointing us to the contrary so we’re taking this investigation as less of a missing individual and focusing it on more of a potential murder investigation.
Christopher Cray Was Killed
On July 1, police declared the missing person case was now a homicide investigation.
For numerous weeks officers and detectives combed through trash with cadaver dogs at the Allied Waste Landfill located at 5605 Moreau River Access Road in the eastern part of the city.
Cray was allegedly collaborating with police in another investigation, and the data he provided may have been the objective behind his homicide as his alliance led to the arrest of an individual” who was associated with the suspect. A Jefferson City Police Department possible cause statement shows on June 17 one suspect sent a text message to an observer in the Cray case which said the observer would “die like the first ‘rat.’ That suspect later confessed to authorities he sent the text message, the police statement reported. Two men were apprehended, and since then charges against both men have been dropped.
Shoemaker said the inquiry is not exactly focused on the landfill anymore and a lot of work still needs to be done.
His sister has battled to keep the case alive and find justice for her brother, granting interviews to the press and making public appeals, but the case stays unsolved.
We are still investigating a series of leads and other sources of data regarding the case. We have not ruled anything out as of yet including numerous locations. We have not quit the investigation. It is still very open and still very active.

The Jefferson City Police are proceeding to interview people with knowledge of the events encircling Cray’s disappearance.

He has a tattoo on the right side of his neck that says “baby girl Mya” with angel wings on the sides of it. He also has Fearless across his back and unknown tattoos on both arms and a calf.
